    This is your chance to shape the future of the MSA.

    Take a minute to nominate qualified people or those who you feel have the potential to make the MSA at UAB all those things you want it to be!

    Yep, it is that time of the year when MSA starts accepting nominations for all the six positions on the Executive Board, for the next academic year (2009-2010). The positions are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Historian, Secretary, and Social Coordinator. A description for each position can be found here: www.uabmsa.org/elections

    Points to Note

    1. Voters and Nominees MUST BE dues paid members.
    2. Nominees should plan to be enrolled (full-time/part-time) in 2009-2010 school year.
    3. Eligible candidates may also avail the self-nomination option.
    4. Nominations MUST be received by 5pm on Monday, March 30th. We will accept no more nominations beyond that date. NO EXCEPTIONS.
    5. All nominations must be emailed to .
    6. Voting on April 13th, 2009 at 7PM in the Great Hall, following candidate speeches and Q&A (60-90 minutes)

    The MSA@UAB would like to wish everyone Eid Mubarak.

    The Birmingham Islamic Society has announced Eid-ul-Adha to be on Monday December 8th, 2008.

    Eid prayers will be held at the Alabama State Fairgrounds. Takbeerat begins at 8:00 AM, and Eid prayer begins at 8:30 AM sharp.

    The Marshall Conference Center has been closed indefinitely, so Jummah Prayers wil be held in the UAB Hospital Chapel. The Chapel is located at 619 19th St S, Birmingham, AL 35233 on the first floor of the West Pavilion building.

    Islam Awareness Week Committee
    We are looking for five team players who can help to put together this year's week-long IAW in the Spring semester. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact on our campus, and gain valuable resume-worthy experience! Contact Sana Warsi () for more information.

    Finance Committee
    Our new finance committee is seeking two resourceful individuals to work with the Treasurer in handling USGA budget matters, devise creative fundraising efforts, and help track the MSA's finances. For more information, contact Zain Janjua ().
